Deprecations and Discontinuations: February 2025

From time to time, we must remove functionality from the Uptempo platform for various reasons. To give users time to prepare and adjust, we communicate functionality removals in two stages:

  1. Deprecation: Deprecated functionality is still available in the Uptempo platform as of the current release, but is planned to be removed with a future release. Deprecated functionality usually does not receive any further updates, and only remains available to already existing users.

  2. Discontinuation: Discontinued functionality has been removed from the Uptempo platform as of the current release, and is no longer available.

If functionality that you use is announced as deprecated on this page, we recommend that you begin preparing for its removal as soon as possible to ensure a smooth transition.

With this release, the following functionality has been deprecated:

Microsoft Office Add-In

With the release of version 8.0, the Microsoft Office Add-In enters deprecation status. This change reflects our ongoing efforts to streamline our integration ecosystem and ensure sustainable long-term support for our Microsoft Office integrations. Customers currently using the Microsoft Office Add-In to search and include assets from Media Pool should be aware that the Add-in will not be actively maintained or supported as part of the standard product offering in version 8.0 and beyond.

Options for Current Users of the Add-In

We understand that the Microsoft Office Add-In for assets is an important part of some customers' workflows. To accommodate these needs, we offer the following option:

  • Extended Support Program: Customers can opt for continued support and individual development of the add-in through a dedicated maintenance agreement. This program includes:

    • Technical support for the Add-in

    • Compatibility updates for version 8.0

    • Ongoing maintenance and bug fixes

    • Custom development as needed
