Expanded Access Controls for Activities: To give administrators more control over their users' access to the activity hierarchy, we've introduced several major new capabilities to the Uptempo Plan access controls:
-
Activity Conditions: With Activity Conditions, you can now define access to activities with much greater granularity. Instead of only being able to grant full access to all activities of a given activity type or type group, you can now set conditions that pinpoint specific activities based on their attributes. For example, you can use conditions to give users access only to activities relevant to their geographic region or department. By combining multiple conditions, you can get as granular as needed to tailor access levels to your organizations exact needs.
-
View Action: Previously, access controls only allowed you to grant full access to activities — to see an activity, a user also had to have the ability to create or edit that activity. Using the new View action, you can now easily set up read-only access for users who need to be able to see an activity's details, but shouldn't have the ability to modify the activity.
-
Set Activity As Child Of Action: To help maintain the integrity of complex activity hierarchies, the new Set Activity As Child Of action allows you to define exactly where in the hierarchy users can place activities. This means that users can only select hierarchy locations (parent activities) that have been predefined as valid whenever they create or move an activity, ensuring that your business logic is consistently enforced.

-
Create Attribute Dependency Chains: When you configure attributes for your activity types, you can now connect multiple (non-required) attribute dependencies together to create multi-level dependency chains. Previously, you could set up pairs of attributes where one was a "controlling" attribute for a second "dependent" attribute, e.g. a Country attribute might be set to control the values for a dependent State attribute — however, an attribute set as a dependent could not itself be set as the controlling attribute for a separate dependent attribute. That restriction has now been removed, which means that you can chain dependencies by setting any attribute as both a controlling and dependent attribute at the same time. For example, a State attribute could be the dependent of a Country attribute, and the controlling attribute for a City attribute, creating a Country-City-State dependency chain.
-
Keep Existing Funding When Moving Activities: For activities that are connected to investments, moving an activity under a different parent activity that has incompatible funding no longer disconnects the moved activity's connected investment by default. This enhancement allows you to reorganize your investment-connected activities without the risk of unintentionally removing their funding. Now, whenever you move an activity in this situation, you will be asked to choose if you want to keep the connection on the moved activity and adjust the new parent activity's investment connections to be compatible. And, as before, you can also still choose to disconnect the moved activity's connected investment and reconfigure its funding afterwards.
-
Track and Compare Actual Performance Metrics for Activities: Track your campaign performance with intuitive KPI comparisons and enhanced visuals. You can now see how Actual results stack up versus Planned through every level of your campaign hierarchy. Choose monthly or quarterly views for granular insights, and quickly spot positive trends with our new improvement direction indicators.

This feature was in Early Access in March 2025, and is now generally available.

-
Persistent Activity Expanded/Collapsed State: Uptempo now remembers whether you expanded or collapsed a parent activity in the Activity column of the Timeline View. Whenever you come back to the Timeline View (or refresh the page) in the same browser, all activities will be displayed as expanded or collapsed just as you had left them the last time. Your settings are saved in the browser's local storage, so they'll be remembered even if you close the tab or browser window.
API
-
Read/Update API for Actual KPIs: This feature allows you to automatically update KPI values through integrations by connecting with external data sources. It allows daily data capture while displaying monthly aggregates in the interface for better business usability. Visual indicators show when values are updated via API.

-
Early Access New API Endpoints for Multi-Activity Funding: We've added features to the Plan API that you can use to perform actions related to funds allocations on activity-investment connections. For example, you can now use the API to programmatically export all funds allocation details from a line item, including the total line item value and allocation amounts, in both the original and converted currencies (if applicable).

Upload Images Using Copy & Paste: You can now paste images directly from your clipboard into the Asset Selector in Job Manager or the Upload window in Media Pool. This makes uploading images easier and more intuitive, and eliminates the need to save image files before uploading them: just copy an image using Ctrl + C or Cmd + C from any source, open the upload dialog, and paste the image with Ctrl + V or Cmd + V to upload it.
