Deprecations and Discontinuations: August 2025

From time to time, we must remove functionality from the Uptempo platform for various reasons. To give users time to prepare and adjust, we communicate functionality removals in two stages:

  1. Deprecation: Deprecated functionality is still available in the Uptempo platform as of the current release, but is planned to be removed with a future release. Deprecated functionality usually does not receive any further updates, and only remains available to already existing users.

  2. Discontinuation: Discontinued functionality has been removed from the Uptempo platform as of the current release, and is no longer available.

If functionality that you use is announced as deprecated on this page, we recommend that you begin preparing for its removal as soon as possible to ensure a smooth transition.

Deprecations

With this release, the following functionality has been deprecated:

Legacy User Group Endpoints in Marketing Planner API

To support a more scalable, maintainable, and consistent platform, we’ve migrated Marketing Planner API endpoints related to user group management to a newer, more robust module. As part of this transition, we are deprecating legacy endpoints that are now redundant or inconsistent with our updated architecture.

What's Changing

The following legacy endpoints are now deprecated:

  • All methods for the UserGroupsRestApi (/usergroups) endpoint

  • The following methods for the GroupRestApi (/group) endpoint:

    • POST_createGroup

    • PUT_editGroup

    • DELETE_deleteGroup

What This Means

  • These endpoints are now marked as deprecated in API documentation and API responses

  • API responses for these endpoints now include deprecation headers

We encourage all developers and integrators to begin migrating to the new user group management endpoints as soon as possible.

For more details, please refer to our Marketing Planner API documentation.

Update: End of Support for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Russian as Uptempo Standard Languages

With the July 2025 release, we announced the deprecation of support for the following user interface (UI) languages:

  • Chinese

  • Japanese

  • Korean

  • Norwegian

  • Russian

These languages were previously included as part of the Uptempo Standard Languages, which means that Uptempo regularly provided and maintained translations of product UI text as part of ongoing releases.

The affected languages were initially planned to be discontinued with the August 2025 release. To give our users more time to make this transition, we have decided to postpone the discontinuation to the September 2025 release.

Note

You can manage UI languages in Uptempo under Administration > Overview > Look & Feel > UI Languages. These UI language settings apply to Uptempo Work modules, but not to Uptempo Plan or Spend.

What’s Changing

Support for the affected languages will officially end with the September 2025 release on September 24, 2025. At that time:

  • If you have one or more of these languages enabled in your Uptempo instance the affected languages will be automatically converted to custom languages. This means:

    • These languages will be moved from the Uptempo Standard Languages section to the Your Custom Languages section.

    • The moved languages will retain all translations provided by Uptempo as of the July 2025 release, but will no longer receive updates from Uptempo.

    • You can continue using and extending these translations yourself, just like any other custom language.

  • If an affected language is not enabled in your Uptempo instance, it will be removed entirely, and not migrated to the Your Custom Languages section.

    • The exception to this is if an affected language is not enabled, but has been modified using the Customize function. In this case, the language will be treated as if it were enabled, and will be automatically moved to the Your Custom Languages section.

  • New customers whose Uptempo instance is activated after July 30, 2025 will not see the discontinued languages in either section by default.

Need Access to Past Translations?

If you would like to use an existing Uptempo-created translation after the discontinuation, Uptempo will provide the translation data source file upon request (with all Uptempo-provided translations as of the July 2025 release). You can upload this file to create a new custom language in your instance.

If you have any questions or would like to request a translation file, please contact your Uptempo customer success manager, or reach out to our support team.

Discontinuations
