Assets
A gray square is displayed instead of a preview image.

The uploaded file is in a format which is not supported by Uptempo. In such cases, no preview image can be generated and the gray square is displayed instead. Please note that this is also the case for some of the supported document formats. If you have any questions, please contact your system administrator.

The uploaded file is in a supported format, but the preview image still has not been generated.

If your user has the relevant permissions enabled, you can use the context menu in the detailed view of the asset to regenerate the preview for the asset. If this also does not work, please contact your system administrator.
The preview of a PDF has only 20 pages, but the PDF contains more than 20 pages.
Because multi-page previews require a large amount of memory, and because creating multi-page previews is time-consuming, the number of pages can be limited to a maximum number system-wide. By default, this is 20 pages. An administrator can change this number and limit it to 2 or 10 pages, for example.
Please contact your system administrator and discuss changing the page limit.
I do not have access to a certain section or I cannot find assets which I know must be there.

The asset is no longer valid and you do not have access permissions to invalid assets.

If the asset is valid and has not been deleted, then you may not have the necessary permissions to view the asset. It may be in a VDB, or allocated to a category, organizational unit or branch which you do not have access to.

The asset is in one of your own collections and is not officially available in the module Media Pool, see Collections.

The asset is in an import folder and the properties have not been completed. The asset is therefore not available in the module Media Pool, see Import Area.

Discuss the possibility of being granted access permissions to invalid assets with your system administrator.

If you have the required permissions, search for the asset in the recycle bin by activating the checkbox In the Recycle bin in the Asset Management widget.

Talk to your system administrator about getting the necessary permissions.

Check your import folders again to see if the asset is there, see Import Area.
